The Glenda sneed Scholarship
As part of Glenda Sneed’s legacy, the Glenda Sneed Scholarship is designed for graduating seniors at David W. Carter High School, located in Dallas, TX, who embody Glenda’s passion for addressing community health and improving the quality of life for residents in under-resourced communities.
In 2023, the scholarship extended to students at South Oak Cliff High School, also located in Dallas, TX.
Like Glenda, an alumna of David W. Carter High School, many Dallas students are from communities with:
higher mortality rates
few economic opportunities
materially unhealthy environments
The scholarship supports students who have the assurance of intellectual acuity along with the grit and determination for empowering social progress in such communities by providing professional services to address community health needs.
